Figure; Any positive shape or form noticeably separated from the background or, the negative space.
This is one of my simple figure drawings of a female model. The time to draw this was approximately 6-8 min. Quick shading was used to help separate the positive lighter portions of the figure from the negative lightness of the background surrounding it.
